Charlotte, N.C. - Following up on her recent selection to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American First Team, rising senior sprinter Lamarra Currie (Apex, N.C./Apex HS) was selected to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American squad.
With her latest selection, Currie continues to add to her already large list of hardware that she has accumulated as a 49er.
Currie was selected as the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Women's Track Performer of the Year and Student Athlete of the Year following her tremendous year on the track and in the classroom as she qualified in two events for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
In addition to her most recent nomination, she was also named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team as she amassed an astounding 4.0 GPA in Psychology.
Currie also made it a clean sweep of the sprint events at both the Indoor and Outdoor Atlantic 10 Championships as she was victorious in the 100m and 200m events outside and the 55m and 100m events during the indoor season.
The soon to be senior sprinter is part of an athletic family at Charlotte which boasts above a 3.0 GPA amongst all intercollegiate sports.
