Woods Qualifies for Finals of 200m Dash for United States at Pan American Games in Brazil

Charlotte Sprinter to Race in Friday Evening Finals

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Charlotte sprinter Shareese Woods finished third in heat one of 200m dash semifinals at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro today. Woods ran a 23.11-second time in the first semifinal of two this afternoon and will race again in the finals Friday evening at 6:20 p.m. EDT.

Results are posted at the Pan Games Web site

Earlier, Woods ran a 23.44 in the opening round and won heat one to get to the semifinals.

Woods is also one of six members of the 4x100m relay team, and could be on the team that runs in the semifinals on Friday afternoon on Friday at 2:55 p.m. EDT.
