Woods Places 4th in NCAA 200 Meters

Fayetteville, Ark. - Charlotte 49ers senior track star Shareese Woods placed 4th in the 200 meter finals at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field championships, Friday night at Arkansas.
Woods' finish is the highest-ever for a 49er male or female athlete at any NCAA Track Championship. Woods placed sixth at the outdoor championships in the 200 meters, last year and former 49er Will Montgomery placed sixth in the outdoor long jump.
Woods was attempting to become the first 49er to win a National Championship in any sport. Senior teammate Sharonda Johnson competes in the triple jump Saturday afternoon at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Woods ran a personal-best time of 22:97, (22.963) to take fourth-place by 5 one-thousandths of a second. Texas A&M's Simone Facey placed fifth at 22.97 (22.968). Woods had qualified for the event with a time of 23:07.
Auburn's Kerron Stewart won the event at 22:58.
