CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Three time All-American Will Montgomery has been ranked as the eighth-best long jumper in the country by Track & Field News, the most prominent track and field publication in the world.
The ranking combines the best absolute distance jumped in a season as well as how well the athlete finishes in top-level competitions. Montgomery's season-best of 25'9.25", combined with high finishes at championship meets resulted in the impressive ranking.
Montgomery's finishes in 2002 included a second-place finish at the C-USA Indoor Championships, first place at the C-USA Outdoor Championships, seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, sixth at the USA Track and Field Championships and second at the NACAC Championships.
