Atlanta, Ga. - Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Track Performer and Student-Athlete of the Year Lamarra Currie took the 100m title, crossing the line in 11.48 as the Charlotte 49ers wrapped up the regular season this weekend at the prestigious Georgia Tech Invitational. The 49ers, preparing for the upcoming NCAA Regional, posted 10 top-10 performances during the meet.

"We have 19 athletes qualified for the NCAA East Region Championship and had hoped to add more this weekend, but those that are all qualified showed performances and/or signs that they are ready to be at their best at the region meet at Florida State in two weeks," head coach Bob Olesen said.

Currie advanced to the finals of the 100m after turning in an 11.90 (-0.1 wind) performance in the preliminaries, improving to an NCAA qualifier of 11.48 in the finals. She then joined the 4x100m relay team of Lajarsha Moses, Courtney Patterson and Ebonie Cunningham, running the second leg en route to a 44.47 finish against a strong field to rank the time third-fastest in school history.
