Box Score

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Kenneth Svendsen and Vince Sherry both posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks for the Charlotte 49ers track and field team at Stanford's Cardinal Invitational Friday.

Svendsen finished 11th in the championship flight with a time of 13:52.76. His time broke his own school record, which he set at last week's Penn Relays. Sherry also competed in the championship flight, placing 19th with a 14:02.55 time. The athletes' times rank first and second in the latest Conference USA standings. They are also among the nation's best this season. Svendsen is 12th in the 5,000, while Sherry is 25th.

Next week, Charlotte heads to South Florida to compete in the 2001 C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
