BLACKSBURG, Va. - Led by Danielle Taylor, who tied her own school record in the pole vault, the Charlotte 49ers posted six season bests at the Virginia Tech Invitational Saturday. Taylor, a freshman finished third overall in the pole vault with a height of 11'5.75".

In addition to Taylor's record, Monique Brown and Vashti Hurt posted season bests for the women's team. Brown was third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.44. Hurt posted her mark in the discus, throwing for 72'4".

Like Hurt, Matt Rausch posted Charlotte's best mark of the year in the discus. He placed seventh with a throw of 150'4". The 49ers also had season bests in a pair of distance events. Dan Monroe was fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.06, while Tore Sand-Hanssen won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 9:35.53 time.

Charlotte travels to Philadelpia this weekend, where they will compete in the Penn Relays.
