AUBURN, Ala. - The track and field team's Matt Rausch and Reagan Barry each broke school records at the Auburn Invitational on Friday. Rausch broke his own record in the hammer, while at the same time improving his chances of getting a berth in the NCAA Championships. Barry reclaimed the 49ers record in the decathlon.

Rausch won the hammer with a throw of 212'2", an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. It broke the record he had set just two weeks earlier at Duke by more than eight feet. Five of the six throws he made surpassed his previous best. His performance ranks seventh nationally, and all but guarantees him a spot in NCAAs, which will be held at the end of May. It also qualifies him for the USA Track and Field Championships.

Barry also broke his own school record, scoring 6,350 points in the decathlon.
