DURHAM, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers thrower Matt Rausch posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the hammer at the Duke GM Invitational this weekend. Rausch won the event with a throw of 204'1", which also broke his own school record.

Rausch becomes the first member of the 49ers' track and field team to post a qualifying mark this season. His performance at Duke betters his previous best by over four feet. Last season, he threw the hammer 200' at the Conference USA Championships.

For the women, Michelle Dixon placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.91. It was the team's second-best mark of the season. Rolanda Gabriel also had a strong outing, running a 1:03.24 in the 400 hurdles.

The Niners will remain in town this weekend as the program hosts the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday, April 13.
