PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Charlotte 49ers track and field team's Kenneth Svendsen posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 10,000-meter run Saturday evening at the Stanford Invitational.

Svendsen finished 12th in the 10,000 with a time of 29:08.22. His time is also a school record.

Vince Sherry also made the trip to the left coast, competing in the 5,000 meters. He ran a time of 14:19.23 to finish 30th. Sherry's time is Charlotte's top 5,000 time of the season.

Charlotte returns to action next weekend, when they compete at the Duke GM Invitational.
