CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers track and field teams each broke a pair of records at this weekend's 49ers Classic. It was the Niners' outdoor meet of the season.

Will Montgomery, who competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships earlier this month, posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the long jump with a 25'5.25" effort, to lead the men's team and break the 49ers record. Matt Rausch raised the mark in the hammer throw, winning the event with a 197'3" toss.

For the women, Adrienne Barnette broke the Charlotte record in the high jump, winning the event with a 5'7" mark. Danielle Taylor broke the school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10'11.75" to finish second overall.

Charlotte returns to action Saturday, when they compete at Davidson's Belk Invitational.
