FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Charlotte 49ers' Will Montgomery finished 12th in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships Friday night at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Center.

Montgomery, a junior from Fletcher, N.C., covered a distance of 24'8.5" to finish 12th in the field of 18. He earned a spot in the meet with an automatic qualifying mark of 25'10.25" at the Clemson Invitational, Feb. 3. He was ranked sixth nationally heading into NCAAs. Ole Miss' Savante Stringfellow, who competed against Montgomery at last week's USA Track and Field Championships, won the event with a 26'6.25" performance.
