ATLANTA - The Charlotte 49ers' Will Montgomery finished seventh in the long jump at Saturday's USA Track and Field Championships in Atlanta.

Montgomery, a junior from Fletcher, N.C., jumped 25'2" to finish seventh overall, and second among collegiate performers. Mississippi's Savante Stringfello was the top collegian, finishing second with a 25'9.25 effort.

Next week, Montgomery will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships at Arkansas. He qualified with an automatic mark of 25'10" earlier in the season.
