HOUSTON - The Charlotte 49ers women's track and field team broke three records on the second and final day of the the Conference USA Indoor Championships. Sprinters Michelle Dixon and Aisha Thomas lowered school-bests in the 200 and 400 meters, while Amber Reddick broke the 49ers' record in the triple jump.

Charlotte's women finished the two-day event in seventh place with 35.5 points. Last season, the team was eighth in the league. The men finished two spots higher, placing fifth with 63 points. Houston swept both the women's and men's titles.

Dixon, Thomas and Reddick each finished second in their events. Dixon was the runner-up in the 200 meters with a 24.77 time, while Thomas was second in the 400 with a time of 55.58 seconds. Reddick covered a distance of 40'5" to finish second in the triple jump.

The men's team had a second-place finish of their own, finishing as the runner-up in the 4x400-meter relay. The Niners also had a strong showing in the triple jump. Abe Morlu had the highest mark with a distance of 48'8" to finish fourth. Eli Sunquist was right behind him in fifth place with a 47'6.25" mark.
