GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Charlotte 49ers track and field team returned to action Wednesday, running at the Florida Fast Times Meet. The meet gave competitors a last chance to post NCAA qualifying marks before next weekend's indoor championships in Arkansas.

Matt Rausch met his goal, posting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the weight throw. He threw for 62'10.75" to finish third. His mark was two feet better than the school record he set at last week's C-USA Championships.

On the women's side, Aisha Thomas took advantage of the fact that she could focus on one race instead of the five she ran at the conference championships in Houston to lower her 400 meter school record by .04 seconds. Her time of 55.74 earned her first place in the event.
