Tim Walls enters his second year as an assistant coach for the 49ers, helping direct sprinters as well as instructing and monitoring track & field student-athletes in the weight room.
Originally from Florida, Walls moved to Charlotte and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and was a 2004 graduate of North Carolina A&T University. He earned a bachelor's degree in Health, Human Performance, and Leisure Studies, with experience coaching youth track & field as well as collegiate strength and conditioning at A&T.
Walls' impressive athletic career in the sprinting events as a collegiate include NCAA All-American honors in the 4x100m relay in 2001, MEAC MVP (2004), N.C. A&T male athlete of the year (2004), the N.C. A&T Hall of Fame Award (2004), and team MVP (2004). He holds school records in the 55m, 100m and was a member of the 4x100m record relay team.
Walls continues to train and compete as a post-collegiate as he earns coaching experience, and is a USA Track & Field level one certified coach.
