First year coach Felicia Fant, a Charlotte Olympic High graduate, returns to her hometown to help guide the 49ers sprinters.
She comes off a stellar sprint career at North Carolina State University, graduating in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Criminology. Fant is the most dominant figure in N.C. State women's sprint history, having set the school records in the 55m, 60m, 100m, 200m and 4x100m team. Her numerous ACC honors include: multiple All-Conference performances including the 60m, 100m and 200m (2003, 2004); and ACC Championships in the 60m (2004), 100m (2003), 200m (2003) and 4x100m (2004).
At the national level she was a NCAA qualifier indoor and outdoor in 2004, competed in the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials and was a finalist in the 200m at the 2003 USA Track & Field Indoor Championship.
Fant also continues to train and compete as a post-collegiate as she gains coaching experience.
