Favorite Memory: Wondering if I would ever get through organic, analytical and environmental chemistry. The wild and crazy road trips in Cross-Country. In track breaking two minutes in the 800 meters and running 15:05 in the 5000 meters. Most of all, my most favorite memories are of my professors, classmates and fellow student athletes which gave me a lifetime of laughs and memories I'll cherish forever.

My competitive running days are now just fond memories. I still dabble with the race timing as a hobby, it keeps me connected to the sport.
My most recent fondest moments are my marriage to my wife Robin, my soul mate, and being able to watch my own son Ryan run is a dream come true. His 2:09 800 Meter time indoor as a high school freshman is impressive in his first year of competitive running. Maybe we have a future 2nd generation 49er in the making.

Kirby Overcash (Men's Swimming; 49ers Mascot, 1988) Executive Director,
Crossroads Ministry ... Charlotte, N.C. ... overcash@jps.net
Favorite Memory: The old saying..."Nothing could be finer than to be a
49er." wasn't fully realized until Jeff Mullins, former NBA player for the
Golden State Warriors of California, became the new Athletic Director and
Men's Basketball Head Coach at UNCC in the mid 1980's. He brought the "New
Attitude" motto that not only spread a revival of team spirit and pride
among the athletic teams but also across the entire student body. I wanted
to be a part of Coach Mullins' team but I couldn't shoot a free throw if my
life depended on it. Then an opportunity presented itself when his wife
became the supervising coach of the cheerleading squad. I went to the
try-outs and was selected to be on the squad. Then an injury during
pre-season practice that resulted in a broken hand eventually sidelined me
from cheerleading after the first few games of the season. The most
exciting opportunity was yet to present itself. During my "red-shirt" time
on the squad Mrs. Mullins approached me to consider becoming the 49er
mascot. A very expensive and "heavy" caricature head of the 49er was in
development. From that time in 1985 until 1988 I enjoyed the life of
anonymity as the 49er mascot. Taking pictures with and passing out candy to
children along with playing mascot tricks on my friends and fellow students
were some of the best things about being the mascot. In 1986 I joined the
varsity swim team after being encouraged by my friends to try-out. In the
spirit of the "New Attitude" head coach Steve Billings of the swimming and
diving team didn't cut me from the team even though I had no prior
competitive swimming experience. His belief and willingness to coach me to
reach my potential to become a competitive swimmer was life changing for me.
A few years later I began competing in triathlons. The camaraderie of the
team was outstanding. We functioned more like a close family than a bunch
of students participating on a sports team. Having the privilege to be the
49er Mascot and compete on the varsity swim team was the paramount of my
49er experiences. Having recently returned to Charlotte after 11 years in
California I am very proud to see that Judy Rose, successor to Jeff Mullins,
has not only continued the "New Attitude" spirit in 49er athletics but has
taken the 49er athletic experience to greater heights. Congratulations and
blessings to the 49ers of the new millenium! It's good to be home again!
Proudest Moment: I have spent the last 11 years living in the San Francisco
Bay area, namely Marin and Sonoma counties. Seven of those years were spent
in the software industry working for Autodesk, Inc. and Mindscape, Inc.
Then I took a leap of faith and a 60% cut in pay to begin my life's work as
an educator of people both great and small. My last four years in
California were spent as a member of the North Bay Christian Academy (NBCA)
academic, administration, and athletics staff. One thing about working at a
private school, especially the smaller ones, you get to wear many hats
whether you want to or not. My academic and athletic experiences at UNCC
more than prepared me for this adventure. I have taught high school
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, PE, and Spanish. In addition I have taught
junior high Science, Math, PE, and elementary Science and PE. I have
coached the junior high cross-country, volleyball, and track & field teams.
I left NBCA as an instructor, coach, athletic director, and assistant
administrator. The sacrifices were worth making simply knowing that I had
the privilege of making a positive impact on the future of tomorrows
leaders, heroes, and champions!

Favorite Memory: How do you pick a single favorite memory from four years of
awesome fun. This was more than a group of men/women that formed a team,
this was a family, with Coach Billings as a surrogate father to all of
us.... One outstanding memory that I have is the week after Christmas, 1987
that we spent in the Cayman Islands. What better place could there be to
bring in the new year? Thanks to my fellow teammate, Kirby Overcash for
helping me get there.... My senior year was quite memorable also... that is
the year that the outstanding freshman class arrived. Wow!!!, they were
good. A great bunch of guys and girls that all fit in like it was exactly
where they belonged.
Proudest Moment: The births of my 2 boys... and then at the pool last
summer, when my two-year old went under water "all by himself" as he liked
to tell me...over and over again...
Tennis
Nick Farinella (Men's Tennis, 1983-84) Owner, Century 21 Camelot Realty ...

Volleyball
Sheri Hall (Volleyball, 1985-89) Program manager, Boston University ...
Sandwich, Mass. ... Husband, Heinz Proft and daughter, Sierra ...
Favorite Memory: Road trips to and from the various matches and experiencing
a new campus - we had a blast each and every time (except when Becky would
throw her clipboard and embarrass us during the game)! I made some great
friends during that time and I'm pleased to say I still have contact with
some of them. Some of the best moments were watching the players that
didn't get much playing time kick butt and really rise to the occasion when
we needed them, having that "perfect" set, and connecting with Constance
Watt for an amazing kill - ahhh, those were the days!:) And we all have to
love Grady's - well, some of us more than others!
Proudest Moment: Going to work on a small island in the Caribbean by myself
shortly after graduating. Overcoming the growing pains of a young team
(1985 volleyball) and sticking it out for the long term gave us all a sense
of confidence that carried over into our everyday lives. I never questioned
whether or not I could do it, if there were adverse situations, as there
usually are in one way or another (especially on a remote island), I knew I
could find a positive outcome and benefit from the experience. I ended up
staying for 4 years and it was the best, and proudest, period of my life
(aside from the birth of my daughter!).
Krista (Doescher) Long (Volleyball, 1986-90) Division President, Beazer
Homes ... Fort Mill, S.C. ... husband, Mike, sons Ryan and Kyle ...

Favorite Memory: There are so many great memories - the incredible people,
all with such different backgrounds, that made up our team... the team unity
that came out of those crazy pre season practices - remember not being able
to sit down?!; traveling all over the South in a van and I never had a clue
as to where we were! But one of the best moments was beating Clemson!!
Proudest Moment: I would have to say that watching my son hit his first
homerun in Little League and seeing his excitement was an incredible moment.

Julia Burton (Women's basketball, 1989-93) ... Husband, Chris, with a
daughter
Proudest Moment: Getting married to my best friend, Chris
Favorite Memory: Receiving my 1000th-point basketball. Thanks for the
fun
Coach Baldwin and the entire Athletic staff.
Proudest Moment: Purchasing my new home in 2002.
Favorite Memory: Each time I put on that 49er jersey was a very special
moment for me. Coach Baldwin -- thanks for a lifetime of memories. I had a
blast!
Proudest Moment: Getting married to David and having the opportunity to do
something I love to do -- Coach Basketball.
Favorite memories: The road trips, especially to California. Everyone that
was there knows why. Also, the friends I met along the way: Charlette,
Markita, Julie, some of the guys on the men's team, and last but not least,
the Coaching staff: You guys are the best and I will always consider you to
be family. Thanks for everything Coach B. and Coach Watson.
Proudest Moment: Getting saved.
Favorite Memory: Its hard to say there's one single favorite memory with
UNCC. They'd have to be broken up into these: my 1st recruiting trip to
the campus, my 1st game played after injuring my knee, going to the Big
Dance several times, and of course walking across that stage to say that I
finally made it through.
Proudest Moment: On several occasions, I felt so proud to say where I was
from and the school I had played for during my tour of Europe playing
basketball. I really felt like I help put the 49ers on the map. Go
NINERS!!!
Carl Hendricks (Cross-Country, Track and Field, 1988-92) Controller,

Professional, Four Bridges Country Club ... Cincinnati, Ohio ... wife, Dana
Favorite Memory: Travelling to and from events with our team. We had a
great group of guys that made lasting friendships.
Proudest Moment: Making all-Metro Conference, with my father being there to
watch. Becoming a member of the Professional Golfer's Association of
America.

girls!
Proudest Moment: I won hula-hoop contest in Miami, and got to compete in
the
world championship in Hawaii.
Nikki Stutts Crooks (Softball 1991-1994) Officer; Char-Meck Police Dept. ...

Favorite Memory: "with 2 outs bottom of the 9th inning and starting a
comeback to beat Wingate. Still having great friendships with my ROOMIES."
Proudest Moment: "My husband."
Favorite Memory: Last game junior year, Becker called a change-up and
we
struck her out, it was Karen's last game catching and her last pitch she
ever caught! Junior year at South Carolina, we beat them 1-0 at their
tournament, Trish scored in 7th inning on a passed ball !!! Senior year,
last game of my career, tied GA TECH... riding home on I-95 in the van,
looking back there was a rainbow in the sky!!!
Proudest Moment: Incorporated my business, CHM SOFTBALL CLINICS, INC.
watching my pitchers win championships and seeing them pitch with
success
Favorite Memory: Favorite game memory: Going 8 for 9 against Furman in a
double header against their cocky pitcher. Of course, I'll always remember
the road trips with the gang, reflections of the games with my two favorite
roomies, Mol and Dawn, our team barbeques at Bonnie, Kelly, Nikki and
Tonya's place (the hangout), the Halloween party with the baseball team AND
the girl with the red lipstick.
Proudest Moment: Crossing the finish line of the 2000 Athens to Atlanta
86-mile In-Line Skate Challenge. It took 5 months of training and 9:31:16
to do it, but... mission accomplished. That is, of course, in addition to
the birth of my son.

Qualifying
(Broke 80 and played by the rules)
Graham Alig (Cross-Country, Track and Field, 1990-93) Biotechnical Legal
Assistant, Pennie and Edmonds LLP ... Brooklyn, N.Y. ...
Favorite Memory: Having the unique opportunity to be coached by my high
school coach, Ed Mather, on the collegiate level. Ed retired to become an
assistant coach at UNCC after more than twenty years as Head Coach at
Bernards High School (NJ). In his HS coaching career he is generally
regarded as the best cross country HS coach ever, possi1bly the best HS coach
ever (199 straight wins). The consistency of coaching allowed me to easily
make the transitions from HS success to collegiate success.
Proudest Moment: Kicking in the last 100m of the 10,000 to win the 1992
Metro Conference Championship at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. The
best part was that, in the stadium that night were all my teammates and my
parents -- both my families.
Favorite Memory: Traveling and competing with a tremendous group of people
and coaches. The people I met, places that I saw, and adversity myself and
teammates overcame have formed more than one lesson in my classroom. I can
honestly say that athletics can be a metaphor for life and have used this
analogy extensively.
Proudest Moment: This one may sound a little corny but it is true. After six
years of teaching (mostly successfully) one of my students, who is now a
freshman at UNCC, told me that I was the best teacher that she had had. In
one moment it made all of the preparation, and low pay, and administrative
hassles worth it. I owe it all to the preparation for both teaching and
succeeding to UNCC.
Favorite Memory: I really enjoyed the day that the athletic department
sponsored the "come watch me play" outdoor rally with all the teams
represented. I thought it was a great way to get to know all the other
student-athletes and generate interest in your particular sport.
Proudest moment: I have moved to New Jersey after spending three years in
Charlotte teaching high school. Upon my return, I was lucky in that there
was a teaching position open in the high school from which I graduated.
Now, I'm not only teaching in a great school, but I also have a coaching
position in both soccer and track.
Tim Southers (Trainer, 1990) Director of Public/Media Relations, United
Speed Alliance Racing ... Williamson, Ga. ... usar@bellsouth.net
Roslyn Forester Maglione (Volleyball, 1987-90) Police captain;
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department ... Concord, N.C. ... Husband,
Danny; Daughter, Megan; son, Tony ...
Favorite Memory: Making such great friends with the entire team and
being
exposed to diverse people and cultures. I actually enjoyed the hard
work
that was required of me and now appreciate the difficult times. I
believe
my experience at UNCC and with the volleyball team helped to shape the
person I am today.
Proudest Moment: Having the opportunity to help so many different
people
through my job and being promoted to captain. I am also proud of my
training for and completing the 2002 Charlotte Observer Marathon in 4
hours,
2 minutes, and 35 seconds.
Hunter Coleman (Baseball, 1993-97) General Forecaster Meteorologist;
National Weather Service ... Winfield, WV ... Wife, Judy and children,
Lainey and Hayes ... colemanh@ezwv.com
Favorite Memory: I have so many great moments of being a 49er. The best were
just being with a group of guys accomplishing our goal of winning on the
field. I really enjoyed the road trips too.
Proudest Moment: Getting married and having two beautiful children, and
getting my masters degree from the University of Wyoming.
Favorite Memory: Going to the NCAA Tournament my junior season and making it
to the conference final two of the four years. Roadtrips. Hanging out with
all the guys. Walking down Bourbon Street with the team. Intrasquad games.
Proudest Moment: Graduating with my degree in MIS, and finding a great job.
Favorite Memory: This submission is from Joey's Nephew, Travis - Alot of the
people who played with Joey would remember me as the little bad mouth
annoying bat boy that would come every so often. I decided to make this
just to let you know where joey is. Some of his memorys are going to the
NCAA regionals, intersquad games, and many more that i wouldn't know about.
Proudest Moment: Joey was married on Dec. 11 1999. His proudest memory would
be playin pro ball in his(my) home town of Frederick, Md. Playing in three
levels in his first year (rookie, low A, and high A). He and his wife buying
their first apartment in NC.
Favorite Memory: Interacting with my teammates, traveling to all the great
cities in C-USA, and the 1998 season, when we went to the NCAA regionals.
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment has been working with this
year's(2001-2002) Charlotte Baseball team, and watching their rapid
improvement everyday.
Favorite Memory: Winning back-to-back conference championships in 1994 and 1995. Beating Tennessee (#7) in their house in 1995. Running
poles in 100 degree heat.

Hanging out on Bourbon Street with all the great guys and experiencing some
weird things.
Proudest Moment: Graduating and getting a good job.
Favorite Memory : Having the opportunity to compete at this level and
being
surrounded by great guys; daily.
ProudestMoment : Married on Nov.11th ... Since then, bought a home and
ready
for a family soon... Proud to be a 49er.
Favorite memory: Being apart of the 1998 team that won 40 games and making
it to the College World Series. Working hour after hour in the batting cage
with Shildt and all the boys (Bo, Joey, GP, Haywood, J Hill, etc.) Watching
our line-up laugh at opposing pitchers.
Proudest moment: I am proud of playing 3 years with the Cincinnati Reds and
setting the single season home run record my first year. I am very proud of
getting married to my girlfriend of 2 years, Liz, as well as buying our
first house together.
Favorite Memory: Watching the selection show at Sandwich Construction Co.
and going to the NCAA Tournament. Watching the hoops team beat Cincy.
Making it to the finals of the C-USA Tourney, intrasquad games, getting out
of study hall my first year.
Proudest Moment: Graduating. Getting promoted my first year of pro ball.
Graduating. Graduating.
Favorite Memory: My favorite memories are being associated with a group of
guys that became as close to me as brothers for the most important years of
my life, and winning two conference championships. The things I learned on
and off the field while at Charlotte shaped me into who I am today.
Proudest Moment: Buying my first house in Arlington, Va.
Favorite Memory: Athens, GA
Proudest Moment: Athens, GA
Favorite Memory: Hanging out with the guys, road trips, Bourbon Street!!!
Proudest Moment: Getting out on my own, marrying Dana .
Favorite Memory: Going to the NCAA Central Regional and pitching against
Texas A&M. Hanging out with my teammates and keeping touch with them after
college.
Proudest Moment: Getting called up to the Big Leagues last year (2003).
Debut was against the Minnesota Twins.
Favorite Memory: Spending countless hours in gym and running with Jeff
Watkinson, Super Bowl soccer parties, Saturdays after fall conditioning,
going to the NCAA Regional(1998), Campus Edge and Moore Hall, Goat, and
talking trash and backing it up in fall intersquads.
Proudest Moment: Graduating while pursuing my dream of playing major league
baseball.
Lisa Cacciola (Women's Basketball, 1995-99) Personal Banker; Bank of America
... Tampa, Fla. ... unccwbb1999@aol.com.
Favorite memory: the fun I had with my teammates while traveling. I will
never forget our trip to Germany & Belgium. It was the first time I had ever
been out of the country, and probably one of the best trips I had ever
taken. I learned alot about those two countries, but I learned even more
about my teammates.
Proudest moment: was being the first person in my family to graduate
college. I will never forget the look on my parents' face when I walked
across the stage on graduation day. There were many days I thought I would
never make it, but I did! None of it would have been possible without the
help of my fellow teammates, the coaching & suport staff, & the many friends
I made while at UNCC.
Favorite Memory:My favorite memory has to be the trips to the
games, with the NCAA 95 Tournament the one to remember.
Proudest moment: I would have to say the day I graduated from
college.I graduated with honors in Sociology from North Carolina Central in
Durham. My experiences at UNCC were the most fun and educational memories
of my life. The friends I met in Rod, DeMarco, Jimmy, Raheem, Roy Pino,
Andre, Shanderic, Tremaine, Jarvis, coach Watkins, coach Mullins, coach
Lutz, coach Billerman are people I will never forget because they made my
dream of playing collegiate basketball come true as a manager and for that I
will be forever grateful. Thank you, UNCC, for teaching me to grow up and
become a man. I only wish I could have graduated as a Forty Niner. Thank
you for the memories and education for a lifetime.
Favorite Memory: There are so many memories from my four years, beating
Alabama; our trip to Germany, but all my fondest memories are from times I
spent with my teammates on and off the basketball floor.
Proudest Moment: Graduation is one of the proudest moments, but the birth of
my son in August 2002 is at the top of the list. Tim and I flew to my home
in Scotland so my parents could be part of the birth.
Favorite Memory: My favorite memory as a forty niner was beating #3
Alabama! We worked so hard that game and I believe that success on the
basketball court (that particular night) has allowed room for the success
that I am having now in life. The one thing that I took from my basketball
career is to never give up when things look dim, because a brighter day is
soon to come!
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment has been my marriage to my college
sweetheart, Michael Graves and having an opportunity to thank the coaching
staff Ed Baldwin, Tolonda Rose, and Ruth Watkins for showing me how to grow
as a player and as an idividual. Best wishes to the next generations of
lady forty-niners.....Take what you are taught in basketball and apply it to
real life, but more importantly WORK HARD AT EVERYTHING YOU DO!
Favorite memory: Among my favorite memories as an athlete, the ones that
stick out would be beating #3 Cincinnati and proving it was not a fluke
by
beating them again en route to our first C-USA tourney championship. I
am
also very fond of the fact that I actually got to play in the NCAA's in
my
hometown in front of several family members and friends.
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment since would have to be playing 1
year of
professional basketball in Norway. Fulfilling a dream of travelling
aboard
before my knees gave out on me.
Favorite Memory: There where so many great times as a 49er. The
accomplishment of helping the team win the last Metro title. And gaining a
berth to the NCAA. The road trips, the laughs the cries all will be with me
the rest of my life. The program really was close knit. I can say that all
of my former teammates were like a brothers to me. Shanderic, Rod, Dre,
DeMarco, Quincy, Roy, Pino, Jarvis, Bobby K, and my boys Rob Price, Kelly,
Joe -- team managers that kept us with laughs. Can't forget my coaching
staff, Mark C, and all the members of the womens basketball team that I
became friends with. And the ones I didn't, you were great to. May God
bless.
Proudest Moment: Also I have several proud moments since graduation. First
of all I found a relationship with God, which I did not have during my
playing days. I got married in 1997 to Greta Bell. I played professionaly
overseas, and in the CBA for a total of four years. Basketball brought me to
several countries across the globe. I have met prestigous people from all
aspects of life. I started a company called James Vending which, I partly
operate. Vending machines are on locations in companies in New York and
Connecticut. Also I am working for a large law firm in Connecticut called
Wiggin & Dana. Law school is my next stop, never thought I'd be going back
to school.
Favorite Memory: Playing in the NCAA Tournament and winning the last
Metro Conference title.
Proudest Moment: Graduating and receiving my diploma.
FavoriteMemory : First of all, my two years in Charlotte was the best
time
of my life. I met my wife there, and I also found many very good
friends
there, who I hopefully will be in touch with forever. My favorite
moment as
a team is playing in the NCAA Tournament my senior year and beating
Georgetown in the first round. My personal favorite moment was the game
against George Washington. We won the game and I won my personal battle
against their Alexander Koul.
ProudestMoment : I have just finished my fifth season as a professional
basketball player, and every year (all my contracts have been one year
deals) it is a great feeling to sign another contract, because that
means
that all the hard work I've put into it the year before, has paid off
again.
By the way, Byron Dinkins and I played together this season for B.C.
Peristeri in Athens, Greece.
Favorite Memory: Having a fun time with the basketball team members on the
road trips. I traveled with the team for 4 years and enjoyed every last bit
of it. Thanks to everyone including Ed Baldwin, Ruth Watson, Tolonda Rose,
and anyone else who made this opportunity for me possible. I have enjoyed
this athletic program and excited about the things that they have
accomplished. I wish the 2001-02 team the best.
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment for me is graduating from UNCC on May
13, 2000, but for the team's proudest moment was when they beat University
of Alabama in 1996, which at that time they were ranked #3.
Favorite memory: Growing up a responsible and accomplished young man.
Proudest moment: Marrying my college sweetheart, and building a life
grounded in the love of god together.
Favorite Memory: At the beginning of every season we had to run the 1 mile
under 7 min!! It was fun... always...just like every other moment I spent at
UNCC.. Thanks to you Coach Baldwin, Ruth and Tolonda and ALL OF MY TEAMMATES
throughout the years, and our support staff including managers, and Tom and
Lisa and so on...but most of all to my host-family, the Fields.
Proudest Moment: Standing hand-in-hand with my parents who just made their
first visit ever to the USA and watching my brother receiving his college
diploma in Savannah, GA.
Proudest Moment: The day I signed my contract to play professional
basketball in Portugal.
FavoriteMemory: In four years having the chance to play in the post-season
four times(3 NCAA and 1 NIT). Winning the C-USA Championship in 1999 and
beating Cincy twice that year was fun. All the coaches and teammates who
dedicated time, effort, and energy so that our program would be respected
yearly on a national level. Getting the chance to play college basketall
with my childhood friend Charles Hayward was truly special.

year on
the team and receiving that Championship ring will be something I will
carry
with me forever. It's an amazing feeling, obtaining a goal as a team
...
when you are doing your best not only for yourself, but because you want
the
person next to you to have that ring more than yourself. There were
many
life lessons learned from the experience itself...as well as from an
amazing
coach...and many lasting friendships made along the way. Being a 49er,
supporting the basketball teams, and traveling to conference and NCAA
tournaments was a great experience.

made from players, coaching staff and the athletic department. Of course
the highlight of my career as a soccer player was scoring the game-winning
goal in (the championship of) our first Conference USA Tournament -- it's
too bad we didn't get a bid to the NCAA Playoffs! I'll never forget all the
different, unique and wonderful personalities all the girls possessed and
most of all I will never forget the best coach I ever had, Robbie Church.
Favorite Memory: Going after a dream of being the best college soccer
team
in the land and coming so close to making it come true. After playing
soccer, baseball and basketball since birth I am glad I was able to
support
my fellow athletes. Freshman year -- our men's team cheering on our
women's
soccer team to victory one night in Ohio (I think we were the
difference).
It was tough going to school 800 miles away from loved ones but the
people I
met at Charlotte have given me some memories I will never forget.

Favorite memory: Its hard to narrow it down because there are so many! I
guess I was always the clown! Hanging out with the baseball team as a
freshman and staying in A_town with the girls on the team! Living with Sonya
and Tiffany was great. Getting into trouble with Brooks! Any moments we got
to hang out as a team was special! We had a great time no matter what!
Roadtrips, conditioning, partying, studying...it all was special.
Proudest moment: I guess I would have to say making it through school and
doing what I wanted to do! I am a happy teacher and successful coach to a
group of amazing girls! I own a home and that is big for me!
Favorite Memory: My favorite memory are the days when the team played
ultimate football for conditioning. I used to drop all of the passes, but
Girls! I have been practicing. The team I wish to remember is the one from
my freshman year(spring 1997) BG, Brooks, Erika, Klinger. Everyone was
mature enough to be able to put differences behind them and play the game.
There was never a problem that we couldn't conquer as a team. I remember
all of us getting together at the end of the year - everyone, freshman
through seniors and we all had the best time!
Proudest Moment: My proudest moment would be my senior year versus Winthrop
in the Rock Hill tournament. We were struggling as a team through the third
game of the day with one pitcher (Poor Amy Morse and her raw underarms)
Everyone was frustrated. At the beginning of the game some frustration was
diverted to me. I redirected this energy on Winthrop and Batted a circuit
that included a long home run over the center field fence. Some players
said that I was done running by the time the ball hit the ground. I was
excited I guess!

Favorite Memory: Of course, the wins over the #1 seed in the C-USA

think back when the men's B-Ball team beat the #3 team in the country the
Cincinnati Bearcats.
Favorite Memory: Away games and tournaments, having fun with my teammates.
Proudest Moment: no children or marriage, so probably starting my own business.
Favorite Memory: "Holy moly...it has been a while since I last visited this
homepage! Attending UNC Charlotte and playing tennis for the men's tennis
team under Coach Boykin for five semesters (1996-1999) was definitely the
best thing I have done so far - I think back quite often, especially after
starting work in December 2002. Studying and playing tennis was so much more
fun!
"Tennis-wise", my favorite memory is still our quarter final victory against
UAB at the conference tournament in New Orleans - even we sucked in the
semis. But most of all I remember all the "9ers" I got to know. Special
greeting to my former team mates, Coach Boykin, Coach Gandar and "the ladies

about everything from physical pain to break-ups with boyfriends to school
pressures to family issues etc. etc. etc. Travelling with the Women's
Basketball team was my favorite time. It taught me how to balance my
responsibilities as a student and as a trainer. The bonds that were created

graduated was the year following graduation. I studied abroad in Paris for
a year, and I traveled a great deal. This will hopefully open up doors for
more travel and potential work overseas in the future.
