Floyd Franks was named athlete of the week after helping Charlotte post victories over the Atlantic 10's top two teams propelling the 49ers into this week's six-team A-10 Tournament.
He scored the game-tying goal in the 49ers 1-1 double overtime tie against Saint Louis, who is the top seed in the A-10 Tournament, last Friday. Then, he scored the game-winning goal in the 49ers 1-0 win over #14 Duquesne in his final home game, last Sunday.
Franks is currently second on the team with five goals and 12 points. He has now scored at least five goals in three straight seasons. He is ranked 18th in school history with 51 career points.
Franks and the rest of the 49ers men's soccer team return to action against Dayton in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Saint Louis, Thursday, November 10 at 8:30 pm.
