Nikki Dumencich scored the game-winning goal in the 49ers dramatic 2-1 double overtime win over Atlantic 10 Conference foe Richmond last Saturday night. The victory was the team's season-high fifth in a row improving their overall record to 9-7 and 5-2 in the Atlantic 10.
Dumencich's goal was the result of a great individual effort. She scored the game-winner with one minute and 35 seconds left in the second overtime.
Dumencich currently is tied for the team with eight goals on the season. Her eight goals is also tied for the third highest single-season total by a freshman in the program's history.
Dumencich and the rest of the 49ers women's soccer team put their winning streak on the line when they conclude the regular season with two home Atlantic 10 contests this weekend, October 28-30. The 49ers battle Massachusetts, Friday, October 28. Then, they host Rhode Island in the regular season finale, Sunday, October 30.
