Pair of Niners Named to Player of the Week Lists

Hailey Beam and Adu Dentamo repeat as conference performers of the week.

Philadelphia – Women’s Soccer player Hailey Beam and Adu Dentamo from the Niners Cross Country team were each named to this week’s Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week list for their accomplishments during the last week.

Beam earned her third A-10 Player of the Week award after scoring two goals and recording two assists this past weekend.

She scored two goals including the game-winning goal in the 49ers 3-2 win at Richmond, Friday. This was the third game this season where she has scored at least two goals. Then, she recorded two assists in the 49ers’ 3-0 win at George Washington, Sunday.

Last week, she scored two goals and assisted on two others in the 49ers’ 8-0 win over Saint Joseph’s, (October 12) to earn A-10 Player of the Week honors. She earned her first A-10 Player of the Week award (September 29) a couple of weeks ago after scoring four goals to go along with four assists in Charlotte victories over La Salle and St. Bonaventure.

Beam currently leads the Atlantic 10 in goals (13), assists (11) and points (37). In Atlantic 10 games, she also leads the league in goals (9), assists (9) and points (27).

Dentamo was named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Performance of the Week following a 25th place finish at the Pre-Nationals meet which was run on the same course as next month’s NCAA Chamnpionships.

His time of 24:07 was his second best time of the season with the redshirt-junior now owning the two best times in the Atlantic 10 this season.

A native of Charlotte N.C., Dentamo will be looking to bring home the first A-10 Cross Country individual championship and will aid the men’s team in their quest for their first A-10 team title.

Dentamo was named the Performer of the Week on October 6th for his Paul Short Invitational performance where he finished ninth overall, in one the premier events in the nation.

Beam and the Women’s Soccer squad are in action this weekend at home as they wrap up the home slate with Dayton on Friday and Xavier on Sunday, while Dentamo and the Cross Country team are next in action on November 1 when they host the A-10 championships.
