Rachel Mees scored the first three goals of her career leading the 49ers to a pair of impressive Atlantic 10 Conference road wins at Xavier (3-0) last Friday and at seven-time regular season champion Dayton (1-0) last Sunday.

Mees, an Ohio native, had a great homecoming this past weekend. She scored her first career goal just over three minutes into the Xavier game. Then, she added her second goal just over a minute later for her first career multiple goal game.

In the Dayton game, Mees then scored the game's only goal with just under a minute left in regulation giving the 49ers the dramatic 1-0 victory.

Mees scored her three goals this weekend on only four shots. She currently is fifth on the team with three goals and nine points. She is tied for second on the team with three assists.

Mees and the rest of the 49ers women's soccer team put their four-game winning streak on the line this Saturday, October 22 when they host Richmond at 7 pm at Transamerica Field.

Other Nominees: Evan Harding (men's soccer), Dorian Host (men's tennis), Jessica Oldenburg (volleyball), Cassie Ficken (women's cross country) and Matt Mincer (golf)
