Charlotte Football Update: Reservations Surpass 1500

FSL Numbers Impressive; Steady in First Week

Sept. 23, 2008

Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers have taken reservations on over 1500 Forty-Niner Seat Licenses (FSL's) as of the close of business Monday, Sept. 22. That would translate to $1,500,000 worth of support for Charlotte 49ers football since the announcement of Chancellor Dr. Phil Dubois' recommendation to add football was made on Thursday, Sept. 18.

At this time, no money has been accepted by the 49ers ticket office. The 49ers will await the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees' final approval in November before beginning the actual sale of FSL's and football tickets.

"I am thrilled with the early show of support for 49er football. The enthusiasm has been tremendous, but we are only a quarter of the way to the required goal," said 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose, referencing the goal of selling 5000 FSL's within six months of the Board's final approval. "We need the enthusiastic responses to continue to not only reach the goal but to surpass it. Thanks to all who have stepped up and ordered quickly. We need to keep advancing toward the goal line."

Interested fans and corporations are encouraged to add their names to the growing reservation list by calling the 49ers ticket office at 704/687-4949 or the 49ers Athletic Foundation at 704/687-4950 or by logging on to the 49ers official athletic website, www.charlotte49ers.com.
