The two-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Charlotte 49ers women's soccer team begins practice for the 2008 season in a couple of weeks. The 49ers goalkeeping duties are in good hands this season with the return of three upperclassman goalkeepers in senior Juli Black and juniors Lauren Brown and Nicole Mercer. Brown, who is a preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection, and Black rank among the program's all-time leaders in career goals against average.
