Junior Shareese Woods was chosen as the Atlantic 10 Women's Indoor Track Performer of the Week after setting school records in both the 200 and 400 over the weekend at Virginia Tech.

Woods provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 200 with a time of 23.88, and ran 55.14 in the 400 to improve upon her previous best by over a half-second. Both of those times lead the conference this year. She also anchored the women's 4x400 relay, which ran the fifth-fastest time in school history.

This is the second time Woods has won a Charlotte49ers.com Athlete of the Week honor. She was also the site's winner on April 18, 2005 after the Sea Ray Relays, where she qualified for three different events at the 2005 NCAA East Outdoor Track & Field Regional.
