Women's basketball junior center Danielle Burgin was named student-athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 5 after posting back-to-back double-doubles in Charlotte's victories over Clemson and Winthrop.
She recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the 49ers 62-58 win over Clemson.
She tallied her second straight double-double and the sixth of the season with an 11 point, 11 rebound performance in the 49ers 82-45 win over Winthrop.
For the week, she averaged 12.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in the two Charlotte victories as the 49ers improved to 9-7.
Burgin is the 49ers leader in both scoring at 11.9 points per game and rebounding at 9.3 rebounds per game.
