Parent of Charlotte 49ers Student-Athletes Cannot:
Receive any benefit or special arrangement (e.g., use of an automobile, promise employment, discounted prices or free cost for services or products). The NCAA considers these "extra benefits," and they are specifically prohibited.
Receive payment for any expenses (e.g., room, board, transportation) to visit the student-athletes or watch their son or daughters competitions while they are enrolled at Charlotte.
Receive expend funds to entertain.
Failure to abide by the rules could result in penalties imposed upon a student-athlete, these penalties could include:
- Ceasing the recruitment of a prospect
- Loss of eligibility
- Forfeiture of competitions
- Institutional fines
- You may have to donate the cost of the extra benefit to a charity
- Reduction in the number of scholarships
- Prohibition from post-season competition
- Disassociation of the Representative of Athletics Interests (e.g. loss of season-ticket privileges)
