 Joe Tereshinski

Joe Tereshinski III was named the 49ers’ receivers coach, Jan. 1, 2012. In his three years with the program, he has helped build the program from the 2012 red-shirt season to the inaugural season of 2013 and through Season Two in 2014.

In 2013, the 49ers receiving corps helped QB Matt Johnson rank 31st in the FCS with 2,581 passing yards. The 49ers put up 450 or more yards in each of its five wins and had five games of 500+ yards. In 2014, slot receiver Austin Duke became the program’s first 1,000-yard receiver (1,337 rec. yards) while the 49ers threw for nearly 3,000 yards (265.0/game) and 19 TDs. A 2006 Georgia grad, Tereshinski spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest, in 2010-11, and worked primarily with tight ends in 2011.

The starting quarterback at Georgia in 2006, Joe III is a third generation Bulldog. His grandfather, Joe Sr., (Redskins) was a tight end and defensive end on Georgia’s 1942 and 1946 SEC Championship teams. His father, Joe Jr. was a member of the Bulldogs 1976 SEC Championship team, alongside his uncle, Wally. Joe’s brother, John, was a Wake Forest tight end from 2004-07.

"Joe comes from a long line of football players. He’s been around the game his whole life," Lambert noted. "I coached with his father and had a chance to recruit and coach his brother, John. Joe’s a high-character guy. I had a chance to work with him at Wake. He has a great wealth of knowledge offensively. He played quarterback at the highest level and can bring a great perspective for our receivers. He has great contacts and relationships in Georgia and will represent Charlotte in a first class manner."

Joe was a red-shirt during Georgia’s 2002 SEC title season and played on special teams and as the long snapper before taking over as QB in 2006. He was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll during his time with the Bulldogs.

A 2006 graduate, Tereshinski double-majored in finance and risk management. He and his wife, Jill, have a daughter, Molly and son, Joe IV. They live in Harrisburg, N.C.
