The Charlotte 49ers had 94 student-athletes named to the Spring 2012 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the league office announced today. Charlotte's 94 Commissioner's Honor Roll members matches the school record of 94 from the fall, 2011 semester. Charlotte was one of seven of the league's 14 schools that had at least one representative from each of its sports. To earn a spot on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester. Of the 94 49ers with at least a 3.5 GPA, 36 student-athletes had a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring.

Charlotte student athletes posted a cumulative 3.102 GPA in the fall and a 3.123 GPA in the spring - both new records. This is the sixth straight year that the 49ers have boasted a GPA of over 3.0.

In the fall, 186 student-athletes had a GPA of over 3.0. In the spring 176 49ers earned a 3.0 or better.

Charlotte has had an Academic all-America in 8 straight years - with baseball's Shane Basen earning second team honors, this year. He is the 37th Academic all-America in school history.
