EPISODE 1

On the debut episode of “49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff” see how Charlotte 49ers Football got started. The early grassroots organizations like Charlotte Football Initiative made their voices heard and the Chancellor’s official recommendation to the Board of Trustees came in 2008. Also, stories on how our on campus stadium came to be and the hiring process for our Head Coach Brad Lambert. All of that and much more on episode one of “49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff”.

EPISODE 2

On this installment of 49FN, Coach Lambert greets the players and sets the tempo for this program. Niner Nation celebrates 365 days out, we meet Strength & Conditioning Coach Jim Durning and track down the 49ers first-ever football signee Will Thomas. Then the team puts on the pads for the first time and get to playing some football.

EPISODE 3

On this installment of 49FN, Coach Lambert heads down to the ESPN730 AM studios for his weekly interview with Lanny Ford and that is not the only stop the 49ers Head Coach has made when promoting Charlotte 49ers Football. We meet the offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen and his strategy of offense as well as his thoughts on the Quarterback position. Lastly, travel back to Newton, NC and Maiden High School with Quarterback Matt Johnson and find out how he got to Charlotte and his thoughts on the early workouts and work.

EPISODE 4

On this installment of 49FN, the 49ers football stadium is complete. See how the project got started and developed through the eyes of the architects and construction crew. Coach Lambert speaks on his role in the project. The 49ers have a lot of freshman on the roster, but one of the few upperclassman is a Wake Forest transfer Defensive Back Desmond Cooper. Coach Lambert and Defensive Backs Coach James Adams have a long relationship with Cooper and are excited he is on the team.

Episode 5

On this installment of "49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff"...The first semester of college for many of the players has come to a close. A few of the players reflect on the challenges they faced and adjusting to college life. We also meet Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Phil Ratliff as he takes players out in the community to nearby elementary schools and childrens hospitals. Ratliff also talks about the type of players the staff is trying to bring into Charlotte and how the campus/university is an easy sell. All that and more on this month of 49FN!

A lot of changes have happened in the last 365 days, including the 49ers announcing that they will rejoin Conference USA. See how it happened, and how the coaching staff has treated the move. Also, this time of the year is crucial for the players to develop mentally/physically. Strength Coach Jim Durning is pushing the limits and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi is up to the challenge. All of that and more on this month of "49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff".

Episode 8

On this installment of "49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff"...Spring Practice started in mid-March, get a up-close look at preparation on this fields with the coaches. Running Back Alan Barnwell got a lot of 1st Team reps in the fall and figures to be the lead back in the 49ers system. See what makes him go and his role on the offense. Football is a full-contact sport and the players at Charlotte have a great training staff/facility to help get them through the long practices/days. Head athletic trainer AJ Lukjanczuk speaks on the setup they have for the team. Finally Coach Lambert discusses the Spring game.. All of that and more on this month of "49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff".

Episode 9

On this installment of "49ers Football Now: Countdown to Kickoff"...Spring practice closed out with the first annual 49ers Spring Football Game. Check out some of the highlights from the game. Fans tailgated, including a group of folks around a vehicle called 'The Normbulance'. Also, just in time for the Spring Game the 49ers rolled out their new video board. Get a look behind the scenes at how the team plans to utilize it during gamedays.

Episode 10

Departments at the University reflect on the Spring Game from April. Before UNC Charlotte became what it is today, journey back to the late 1940's and meet a member of the initial football team, at the time called the C.C.U.N.C Owls. A Charlotte native Austin Duke talks about his decision to stay in the QC and how this team is striving to be, "better than good" and the uniform is revealed.

Episode 11

The 49ers will kickoff vs. Campbell on August 31st in their first ever home football game. How did that game come to be? And as a startup program, filling the schedule is easy said then done.

Also, the football stadium recently got a name. Niner Nation will call 'Jerry Richardson Stadium' home for football. Mr. Richardson's generosity is unmatched and his support of the program is excellent.
