Three earn NSCAA All-South Honors

Kansas City, Kan.-  Three members of the Conference USA Champion Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer team were named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire All-South Region teams.  Junior forward Giuseppe Gentile was named first-team All-Region.  Senior defender Thomas Allen was named second-team All-Region.  While, senior midfielder Aidan Kirkbride earned third-team All-Region honors.

Gentile, who earned Conference USA Tournament Offensive MVP and All-Conference USA First-Team honors this season.  Gentile finished the season with eight goals and three assists.  Four of his goals were game winners this season.  Gentile scored two goals in the opening round victory of the C-USA Tournament against UAB, 2-1.

Allen, earned All-Conference USA Second-Team honors and was named to the Conference USA Championship All-Tournament team this season.  Allen anchored the 49er defensive unit that shutout 11 opponents and limited foes to scoring 16 goals on the season.  Allen did not record a point on the season but took 10 shots.  Allen started 20 of the 21 matches this season.

Kirkbride, who earned All-Conference USA First-Team honors along with Conference USA All-Academic honors this season.  Kirkbride finished third on the team with four goals, with two of those being game winners.  Kirkbride played every match at midfield for the 49ers.  Kirkbride helped with the back line that shutout 11 opponents on the season and seen an offensive attack that won eight straight and outscored opponents 20-3 the final nine matches of the season.
