Position:

Carlton has been the Head Athletic Trainer since the 2000 season at Charlotte. He also serves as the Athletic Trainer for the men's basketball and golf programs. During his tenure the Athletic Training Staff has increased from five to 12 full-time and two more part-time certified athletic trainers and a Physical Therapist who makes weekly visits to the David Johnston Memorial Athletic Training Room. He has enlisted the help of several other allied health care professionals to help keep the 49ers healthy.

Weekly visits to the Athletic Training room by a sports chiropractor, a sports massage therapist along with several team physicians, the team dentist and team optometrist ensure that all of the student-athletes receive the top-notch medical care that Division I collegiate student-athletes should have. 

Anderson received a Master's degree in Health Promotion and Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During this time, Carlton served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with the Women's Soccer and Baseball teams.

He completed his Bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Before joining the 49ers, Carlton worked as a clinical athletic trainer for McLeod Regional in Florence SC. He was an assistant athletic trainer with the men's basketball team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. He served as an assistant athletic trainer with the Chicago Cubs organization and completed two professional internships; one with the Washington Redskins and another with the Atlanta Braves.

A native of Charlotte, Anderson is a graduate of West Charlotte Senior High. Lion Pride!

Carlton is single and enjoys American boxing, Jeet Kune Do/silat/kali and reading.
