Ashley Vaughn enters her first season as the cross country and distance coach for the Charlotte 49ers cross country and distance programs. Prior to coming to Charlotte, Vaughn assisted the head coach at the University of South Carolina, where she obtained her master’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management. During her two year tenure at the University of South Carolina, the program produced numerous NCAA qualifiers and NCAA scorers.

The Monroe, N.C. native is a 2010 graduate of Clemson University, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Health Science. Vaughn ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track all four years while at Clemson. She was a four-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll and a member of the 2010 Women’s Outdoor Track & Field ACC championship team.

“She came very highly recommended from several top coaches in the region, and she was vital to the University of South Carolina’s distance program as a Grad Assistant from 2010-2012.”
“I’m thrilled to have such a well experienced individual such as Ashley assisting me within the distance ranks” said Coach Ed Schlichter.
