A free youth clinic was held at Saturday's Fan Day for both basketball teams.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte 49ers athletic department presented its annual basketball Fan Day Saturday in Halton Arena. Both the men's and women's basketball teams participated in the event, signing autographs and putting on short intrasquad scrimmages for those in attendance. Niner supporters were able to pick up tickets, compete in a tricycle race, interview 49ers student-athletes and receive player autographs on the newly released schedule posters.The 49ers men's basketball team plays host to Pfeiffer in an exhibition game in Halton Arena on Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m. Charlotte tips off the regular-season against Charleston Southern in Halton Arena on Friday, November 9 at 6 p.m. The women's squad, which has advanced to 10-straight postseason tournaments, is entering its second season under head coach Cara Consuegra. The 49ers return nine letterwinners and five starters from last season's WNIT team led by seniors Jennifer Hailey, Jai Forney and Amanda Dowe. The 49ers play host to Johnson C. Smith in an exhibition game in Halton Arena on Saturday, November 3 at 7 p.m. Charlotte tips off the regular-season against North Carolina Central in Halton Arena on Friday, November 10 at 6 p.m. |
