Hailey and Woodson Earn NCCSIA All-State Honors

Charlotte, NC - Junior forward Jennifer Hailey and senior guard Epiphany Woodson were named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State team. Hailey, who collected her second straight All-State honor, was named first-team. While, Woodson earned second-team All-State honors.  

Hailey and Woodson played an integral role in helping the 49ers earn their tenth straight postseason tournament berth with bid to WNIT.

This past season, Hailey was voted second-team All-Atlantic 10. She also was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive team. Hailey led the 49ers and ranked eighth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 13.7 points per game. She finished the season with 956 career points. She also led the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (9.3 boards per game) and blocked shots (2.4 blocks per game). She recorded 73 blocked shots which was a school single-season record. Last season, Hailey recorded 26 double-figure scoring games, 14 double-figure rebounds games and 12 double-doubles.

Woodson was named Atlantic 10 Sixth Player of the Year. She was also voted third-team All-Atlantic 10 as well as being named to the A-10 All-Academic team.

Woodson joined former Charlotte standouts Peaches Harris (Conference USA - 2003) and Shannon McCallum (A-10 - 2009) as 49ers that have been named a league's Sixth Player of the Year. She is second on the team and 13th  in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 12.3 points per game. Woodson went over the 1,000th  point mark in her career against St. Bonaventure, January 21. She finished her career with 1,132 career points. She recorded 20 double-figure scoring games including scoring a career-high 32 points off the bench at Saint Louis, February 22.

The NCCSIA All-State University Division teams consist of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. Nominees are submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals. NCCSIA members voted for the all-state team.
