Woodson, Hailey and Sigmon Earn All-A-10 Honors

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers women's basketball's senior guard Epiphany Woodson (Charlotte, NC/Providence Day), junior forward Jennifer Hailey (Marshville, NC/Forest Hills) and freshman guard Hillary Sigmon (Hickory, NC/Hickory) earned All-Atlantic 10 honors. Woodson was named Atlantic 10 Sixth Player of the Year. She was also voted third-team All-Atlantic 10 as well as being named to the A-10 All-Academic team. Hailey was voted second-team All-Atlantic 10. She also was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive team. Sigmon was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team.

Hailey and Woodson are the eighth and ninth different Niner to garner All-Atlantic 10 honors. Hailey is the fourth different Niner to earn A-10 All-Defensive team honors. Woodson is the third different Niner to be named to the A-10 All-Academic team. Sigmon is the third different Niner to be named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team.

Woodson joins former Charlotte standouts Peaches Harris (Conference USA - 2003) and Shannon McCallum (A-10 - 2009) as 49ers that have been named a league's Sixth Player of the Year. She is second on the team and 12th  in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 12.9 points per game. Woodson went over the 1,000th  point mark in her career against St. Bonaventure, January 21. She enters the Atlantic 10 Tournament with 1,123 career points. This season, she recorded eight double-figure scoring games off the bench in Atlantic 10 play including a career-high 32 points at Saint Louis, February 22.

Hailey leads the 49ers and ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 14 points per game. She enters the Atlantic 10 Tournament with 936 career points. She also leads the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (9.4 boards per game) and blocked shots (2.3 blocks per game). This season, Hailey has record 24 double-figure scoring games, 13 double-figure rebounds games and 11 double-doubles.

Sigmon, who averages 7.4 points per game, has recorded nine double-figure scoring games including a season-high 17 points in the 49ers victory over La Salle, January 18. This season, she has connected on a three in 21 games  including eight straight games entering the Atlantic 10 Tournament. She has started 17 of the 49ers last 18 games entering the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Hailey, Sigmon, Woodson and rest of the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team returns to action when they face Saint Louis in the first round of the Buick Atlantic 10 Tournament, March 2 at 7:30 pm at Saint Joseph's Hagan Arena.
