49ers Play Duquesne On The Road On National TV

The Charlotte 49ers (15-9, A-10: 7-3) play Duquesne (16-8, A-10: 4-5) on the road in a game that will broadcast nationally on the CBS Sports Network, Saturday, February 11 at 4:30 pm.

Jennifer Hailey leads the 49ers and ranks 9th in the A-10 in scoring at 13.4 points per game. She has recorded 21 double-figure scoring games this season after scoring 20 points at Dayton, Wednesday. Hailey leads the Atlantic 10 in blocked shots and is second in the Atlantic 10 in rebounding at 9.3 boards per game. Epiphany Woodson is second on the team and 16th  in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 11.8 points per game. Woodson has recorded 16 double-figure scoring games this season. Amanda Dowe leads the Atlantic 10 in rebounding at 9.5 boards per game. Dowe, who averages 7.1 points per game, has recorded two double-doubles in the 49ers' last three games. Gabby Tyler is third on the team in scoring at 8.4 points per game. She also averages 5.5 rebounds per game. Jai Forney is fourth on the team in scoring at 7.8 points per game. Forney is the only Niner to start all 24 games this season. Hillary Sigmon, who has started the last 14 games, averages 7.4 points per game. Sigmon scored 11 points in the 49ers last game at Dayton. Ny Hammonds, who averages 5.3 points per game, leads the team in assists with 86. Hammonds scored 11 points off the bench at Dayton. Ayanna Holmes has started 20 games this season at point guard. Last week, Holmes scored a career-high 12 points against Massachusetts. Katie Meador scored eight points off the bench in the 49ers victory over Massachusetts and nine points off the bench against Rhode Island.

Charlotte and Duquesne have played eight previous times. The 49ers have a 5-3 series advantage. Duquesne has won the last two meetings between the two teams. The 49ers last win over Duquesne came in the 2009 A-10 Tournament Quarterfinals where the 49ers defeated Duquesne, 81-57, March 7, 2009. The 49ers went on to win the 2009 A-10 Tournament title which was played in Halton Arena. Duquesne defeated Charlotte, 76-63, in their last meeting which came in Halton Arena, February 23, 2011. Hailey and Woodson each scored 13 points apiece in that game. Duquesne defeated Charlotte, 70-68, in double overtime in their last meeting at Duquesne, January 9, 2010. Forney scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in that game. Charlotte has won two of the three previous meetings between the two teams at Duquesne.
