Charlotte 49ers women's basketball's senior guard Shannon McCallum and sophomore forward Jennifer Hailey were named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State team. McCallum, who collected her third straight All-State honor, was named first-team All-State for the second time. Hailey garnered second-team All-State honors.

McCallum and Hailey played integral roles in helping the 49ers win a school-record 27 games and reach the WNIT Final Four.

Last month, McCallum was named second-team All-Atlantic 10 for the second straight season. She earned All-Atlantic 10 honors three times in her career including being named A-10 Sixth Player of the Year in 2009.

McCallum led the 49ers in scoring this season at 13 points per game. She recorded 24 double-figure scoring games and nine 20-point scoring games this season. She was one of three 49ers with 100 assists as she recorded a career-high 108 assists. She finished fourth on the team in rebounding (5.3 rebounds per game) and second in steals (60).

McCallum finished her stellar career fourth in Charlotte's all-time scoring list with 1,525 career points. She also played in a school-record 130 career games. She finished her career ranked in Charlotte's top ten in field goals attempted, field goals made, three-point field goals made, three-point field goals attempted, free throws attempted, free throws made, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots and minutes played.

Hailey, who earned NCCSIA All-State honors for the first time in her career, led the team in rebounding this season at 8.3 boards per game. She finished third on the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game. This year, she recorded 55 blocked shots which is the third highest single-season total in school history. She recorded 18 double-figure scoring games, 13 double-figure rebounds games and eight double-doubles this year. She had 24 games with at least seven rebounds. She enjoyed her best game as a 49er with a career-high 26 points and a career-high tying 14 rebounds in the 49ers win at 2011 WNIT participant Richmond in late January.

The NCCSIA All-State University Division teams consist of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. Nominees are submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals. NCCSIA members voted for the all-state team.
