49ers Play Kansas State on ESPNU In Puerto Rico

The Charlotte 49ers (2-1) travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Tip-Off this week, November 21, 22 and 24 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente. The 49ers will play Kansas State in the first game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 am. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. Charlotte will face either Georgetown or Northeastern in their second game, Friday, November 22.  

In the 49ers last game, Charlotte defeated Elon, 83-69, in Halton Arena, Friday, November 15. Shawn Lester led the 49ers with 24 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double. Willie Clayton recorded his second straight double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Terrence Williams (16 points), Mike Thorne Jr. (14 points) and Pierria Henry (13 points) all scored in double-figures for the 49ers.

Thorne, Henry, Williams and Lester have all scored in double-figures in each of the 49ers first three games. Henry leads Conference USA in steals per game at 4.67. Clayton has two double-doubles this season.  Clayton is fourth in Conference USA in rebounding at 9.7 boards per game. Ben Cherry has started the 49ers first three games this season. Marcus Bryan has given the 49ers solid production off the bench this season so far.

Thursday's game will mark the first meeting between Charlotte and Kansas State.
