JT Thompson, who is in his first season at Charlotte after transferring from Virginia Tech, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the second half of the Temple game last Wednesday. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.

This marks the third straight year that a knee injury has cut short Thompson's season. While at Virginia Tech, Thompson missed the 2011-12 season with torn ACL in his right knee. He missed the 2010-11 season with a torn ACL in his left knee.

This season, Thompson saw action in 20 games with one start against Massachusetts. He is averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 12 points in the 49ers victory over Fordham, January 16. He scored at least eight points in four games this season.
