Saturday's Jordan Brand Regional Classic All-Star Game at Time Warner Cable Arena once again had a familar 49er flavor. Charlotte in-state signees Shawn Lester and Denzel Ingram were both named to play in the game -- the second straight year that two 49ers signees played in the game.
Lester, a 6-3 shooting guard from Mooresville, N.C. played for the West squad, scoring 8 points with 10 recounds, while Ingram, a 5-11 point guard out of Chapel Hill, N.C., played 25 minutes for the victorious East Squad, scoring 10 points with 4 assists and a steal.
Last year, 49er signees Mike Thorne and Terrence Williams also competed in the game.
"We're very happy for those two to have this opportunity," said 49ers head coach Alan Major. "Obviously, it's great that these kids are talented enough to be voted to play and, for us, its great to see we are continuing to make our mark in the state."
