Charlotte, NC – Charlotte 49ers head coach Alan Major announced that sophomore guard Denzel Ingram will be transferring.

“We would like to thank Denzel for all his efforts and contributions to our program,” Major said. “We want to wish him well in his future endeavors.”

In his two seasons with the 49ers, Ingram saw action in 61 games with 38 starts. He connected on 65 career three-point field goals and scored 416 points in his two seasons at Charlotte.

This past season, he saw action in 28 games with 10 starts. He averaged 8.1 points per game. He recorded 16 career double-figure scoring games with a career-high 20 points against Georgia Tech this past season.

The 49ers return experienced guards Pierria Henry, Terrence Williams, Shawn Lester and Ivan Benkovic. The 49ers welcome guards Braxton Ogbueze, who sat out this past season after transferring from the University of Florida, and high school standouts Keyshawn Woods and Torin Dorn Jr., to the 2014-15 roster.

The 49ers finished this past season with a 17-14 record, captured the Puerto Rico Tip-Off title and earned a first-round bye in the Conference USA Tournament.
