The Charlotte 49ers (12-7, Conference USA: 3-3) return to Halton Arena for a two-game home stand beginning with a game against Florida Atlantic (7-13, C-USA: 2-3), Thursday, January 30 at 7 pm.
Pierria Henry and Shawn Lester are tied for the team lead in scoring at 12.4 points per game. Henry leads the team in scoring in Conference USA games at 14.5 points per game. Henry is the only player in Conference USA to average double-figure points while averaging at least five rebounds (5.2 rpg) and five assists (6.1 apg) per game. Lester has recorded 13 double-figure scoring games off the bench this season including a game-high 18 points in the 49ers last game at Rice last Saturday. Willie Clayton (11.8 ppg), Terrence Williams (11.1 ppg) and Mike Thorne (10.3 ppg) round out the 49ers double-figure scorers. Denzel Ingram averages 8.8 points per game. Clayton is 10th in the NCAA and first in Conference USA in double-doubles with ten. Clayton enters the Florida Atlantic game with two straight double-doubles. Clayton leads Conference USA in offensive rebounds (4.31 per game). Ben Cherry leads Conference USA in three-point field goal percentage (49.2%). Ingram is second in Conference USA in three-point field goal percentage (47.5%). Clayton leads Conference USA in field goal percentage (63.5%). Marcus Bryan has given the 49ers solid production off the bench this season so far.
Florida Atlantic is led in scoring by Pablo Bertone, who averages 18.1 points per game. Jackson Trapp averages 10.3 points per game. Justin Raffington averages 9.2 boards per game.
Thursday’s game will mark the first-ever meeting between Charlotte and Florida Atlantic.
