Former Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball standout Chris Braswell (2009-13) will play professional basketball in Turkey. Braswell, who averaged 12 points per game during his career at Charlotte, signed to play for Best Balikesir of the Turkey Basketball 2 League.
During his career, Braswell earned third-team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2012 and A-10 All-Rookie team honors in 2010.
Braswell finished his Charlotte career with 1,465 points which ranks 15th on the 49ers all-time scoring list. He finished with 868 career rebounds which ranks fifth on the 49ers all-time rebounds list. Braswell finished his career ranked among the 49ers top 20 in points, field goals made, free throws made, free throw percentage, free throws attempts, rebounds, blocked shots, games started, games played and minutes.
Last season, he led the 49ers in scoring at 11.9 points per game. Last year, he recorded 20 double-figure scoring games. He finished his career with 76 double-figure scoring games. Braswell also finished his career with 29 double-figure rebounds games and 24 double-doubles.
