After a weekend sweep of Dayton to win their last nine home conference games of the year, the Charlotte 49ers had a pair of players named to the Atlantic 10 Conference weekly awards list. Junior outfielder Justin Seager (Kannapolis, N.C. / Northwest Cabarrus HS) was named Player of the Week, while senior John Hamilton (Strongsville, Ohio) was named Co-Pitcher of the Week. Charlotte has won eight in a row and took sole possession of first place in the A-10 with a 16-5 mark entering the final weekend of regular-season play. Charlotte is 32-19 overall this season.

He drove in the first run of the day on Friday night and on Sunday, sending in three runs in Sunday’s 12-9 win.  Seager is tied for the team lead with 10 multiple-RBI games and leads the 49ers with 20 multiple-hit games, including a team-best seven three-hit performances this season. Xavier’s Tyler Koors shared Pitcher of the Week honors with Hamilton. A native of Indianapolis, Koors delivered a complete-game shutout to lead Xavier to a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts on senior day for the Musketeers. A senior himself, Koors scattered seven hits throughout the game and did not walk a batter, while registering six strikeouts for his win.

Rhode Island left-handed pitcher Steve Moyers was tabbed as the league’s Rookie of the Week. Moyers earned his sixth A-10 start on Sunday, allowing just two hits to pick up the win in URI’s 17-1 win over Butler.
