Charlotte baseball makes its final non-conference appearance of the season Tuesday at Wake Forest, with first pitch at 6 p.m. Senior Chad Rothlin (Hickory, N.C. / Hickory HS) will make his 16th and final start of his career in the contest, looking for his fourth win of 2012. He is 1-1 in his two starts this season, 3-2 overall this year, with a 4.32 earned run average.

The 49ers enter the game 20-29 overall, with six-straight losses. Charlotte has dropped four of the last five games by a total of eight runs. The 49ers are 25-34-1 against Wake Forest all-time, with two wins in the previous four meetings, including their previous meeting in Winston Salem, a 13-10 victory in 11 innings at Gene Hooks Field on March 22 of last season. Wake enters with a mark of 28-22, dropping six of its last eight contests. Charlotte led the Demon Deacons 7-5 on April 11 at home, but lost 12-7 in the late innings.

Charlotte's RBI leader, third baseman Shane Basen (Waxhaw, N.C. / Marvin Ridge HS), has 14 hits and 15 RBI in the 49ers last 10 games. He leads the A-10 Conference with 22 RBI in 20 league games this season and is fourth overall with 43 driven in this year. Basen is third on the squad with a .322 batting average, one point behind home run leader Corbin Shive (Salisbury, N.C. / East Rowan HS).

The 49ers will finish the regular season in a three-game home series against Atlantic 10 Conference opponent St. Bonaventure, beginning Thursday night at 6 p.m. Senior night festivities will take place before Friday night's contest, also slated to start at 6 p.m. Saturday's finale will be at 2 p.m.
