Jared Fries is entering his third year as Athletic Academic Advisor with the AAC. Fries joined the AAC in July 2012. Fries serves as the advisor for golf, volleyball, men’s and women’s track and field, and men’s and women’s cross country.
Prior to Charlotte, Fries was an Academic Advisor from 2011-2012 at Southern Illinois University, where he worked with baseball, football, men’s tennis, and men’s and women’s golf. From 2008-2011 Fries was the Academic Coordinator/Tutor Coordinator at East Tennessee State University. As a graduate assistant at the University of Florida, Fries was a tutor for student athletes. Prior to his time in athletic academic services, Fries worked for Wachovia bank as a financial center manager.
Fries is a 2004 cum laude graduate from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. He earned a Master’s of Science in Sport Management from the University of Florida in 2006. Fries is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and earned his N4A individual certification in 2012.
Fries resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Tammi Fries, the Associate Head Volleyball Coach at Queens University, and daughter Layla.
