Charlotte senior captain Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) recorded her fourth double-double of the season, but the 49ers fell to Conference USA foe Tulane 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) Sunday at Halton Arena. Charlotte slips to 10-9 on the season, 0-4 in C-USA. Tulane pushes its record to 17-2, 3-1 in conference.

Tulane built a quick 4-1 lead in the opening set, but the 49ers answered and took the lead at 15-14 after a 4-0 run. Charlotte hurt itself with eight first-set errors as Tulane was able to pull away in the late stages.

The second set had five lead changes and nine tie scores, including at 20-all, but the Green Wave reeled off a 5-1 run to finish the set and lead 2-0 at intermission.

Tulane got off to an 8-1 run to start the third, though Charlotte closed to within two at 14-12. Tulane, though, never trailed in the set, hitting the match-high attack percentage of .385 in the final set, committing just two errors for the win.

Sophomore libero Michelle Hovey (Raleigh, N.C. / Lighthouse) led the 49ers with 14 digs and setter Britney Leigh Held (Brookfield, Wis. / Brookfield Central HS) dished out 26 assists in the match.

The 49ers are 8-3 in three-set matches this season.

Charlotte will hit the road next weekend for a pair of matches in Texas. Charlotte will next play at North Texas next Friday night at 8 p.m. Eastern.
