Charlotte volleyball concludes the four-match home stand with a Tuesday night tilt in Halton Arena versus the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs, with first service scheduled for 7 p.m. The 49ers and Bulldogs will head to their respective conference slate following this match.

Charlotte (9-5) enters the match winners of eight of the last ten, including six-straight sweeps of the opposition. The 49ers are 10-0 all-time against GWU, with the Bulldogs winning just three of the 24 all-time sets played between the two programs, dating back to 1978. The two teams have only played in Halton Arena one time in the series, a 3-0 Charlotte win on October 11, 2005. GWU forced Charlotte to a fifth and tiebreaking set when the programs met last season in the Gardner-Webb home tournament on September 8.

Garner-Webb (6-8) last played at home on Thursday night with a 3-0 win over Division II Brevard College. The Bulldogs have not won a true road match this season, with a 3-4 mark in neutral-site contests and an 0-4 mark for the season. GWU is 4-1 in four-set matches this season, but 0-2 when facing a fifth set.

Charlotte’s Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) was one of two 49ers named to the All-Tournament Team of the 49er Invite this past weekend in Halton Arena. She produced 10 or more kills in all three weekend matches and averaged more than a block per set for the weekend. She is currently ninth in Conference USA in kills (3.35) and points per set, leading Charlotte in both categories, as well as blocking.

Sophomore Michelle Hovey (Raleigh, N.C. / Lighthouse) was the other All-Tournament performer from Charlotte this past weekend. She posted 52 digs in 10 sets for the weekend, adding in 20 more in a three-set win at North Carolina A&T on Tuesday to boost her season average to exactly five digs per set, second-best in C-USA.

Gardner-Webb is led offensively by Erin Anderson, who has posted 2.82 kills per set to this point. The defensive leader is Anna Pashkova and her 4.92 digs per set average.

Tuesday night is free youth night, with college students with ID, and youth under 18 attending for free. Adults are just five dollars and tickets are available at the 49ers Ticket Office in person or by calling (704) 687-4949.

The 49ers will head on the road to begin conference play in Miami this weekend, taking on FIU Friday and FAU Sunday to begin the return to Conference USA after an eight-year absence.
