After its first Atlantic 10 Conference volleyball win of the season, Charlotte landed a pair of student-athletes on the Player of the Week list, announced by conference officials Monday. Sophomore middle blocker Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman middle blocker Savannah Gaster (Johnsonville, S.C. / Johnsonville HS) was named the league's Rookie of the Week. Charlotte defeated Fordham at home Sunday 3-1 to secure the team's first league win this season. The 49ers are 7-12 overall on the season.

Videmsek put up back-to-back matches with seven blocks each in Charlotte's 1-1 week. Videmsek amassed 17 kills in two matches for the week, including 11 in the Sunday victory over Fordham. Videmsek leads the team with 1.02 blocks per set this season and is second on the team with a .275 attack percentage, 2.45 kills per set and 55 blocks, as well as third for the 49ers with 130 kills.

Gaster put up seven blocks and an attack percentage of .438, second-best totals of her career in the Niners Sunday win. Gaster leads the squad with 69 total blocks and is second in blocks per set at 0.96 at this point in the season. It was her third seven-block performance in a conference match this season. The rookie is also fifth on the team with 81 kills and 1.12 kills-per-set average.

The 49ers begin a three-match road swing with a pair of contests in Philadelphia this weekend. The 49ers take on La Salle Friday night and Temple on Saturday evening. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
